Modern Slavery Statement
Enfield Removals Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions Enfield Removals takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Enfield Removals operates in the removals and relocation sector and recognises its responsibility to identify, prevent and address risks related to forced labour, servitude, human trafficking and all forms of exploitation.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Enfield Removals has a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We will not knowingly engage with any individual or organisation involved in practices that are incompatible with this commitment.
All directors, managers, employees, contractors and temporary workers are required to comply with this policy and with all applicable laws relating to modern slavery. Any breach is treated as a serious disciplinary matter, which may result in termination of employment or contract and, where appropriate, reporting to the relevant authorities.
Scope of Our Commitment
Our commitment covers all aspects of our operations, including recruitment, employment practices, subcontracting, transportation, warehousing, packing materials and equipment sourcing. We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, business partners and subcontractors, and we require them to uphold and promote respect for human rights within their own operations and supply chains.
We recognise that the removals and logistics sectors can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, particularly through the use of temporary, agency and migrant labour. We therefore place particular emphasis on ensuring that workers involved in our services are engaged on fair terms and are free from coercion.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Enfield Removals applies a risk-based due diligence process when selecting and reviewing suppliers and subcontractors. We assess potential and existing partners on their labour practices, working conditions, and compliance with modern slavery legislation.
Where appropriate, we require suppliers to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded or involuntary labour, and that they provide safe working conditions, fair wages and reasonable working hours. We may request supporting documentation, such as policies, training records and evidence of right-to-work checks.
We reserve the right to conduct audits or request independent audit reports of high-risk or strategic suppliers. These audits may include site visits, interviews with management and workers, and reviews of employment records. If a supplier is found to be in breach of our standards, we will require corrective actions within a defined timeframe and may suspend or terminate the relationship if improvements are not made.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Enfield Removals encourages the reporting of any concerns related to modern slavery, human trafficking or unethical labour practices. Concerns may be raised by employees, suppliers, subcontractors, customers or any other stakeholder.
Reports can be made to line managers, senior managers or a designated company representative. Individuals are encouraged to provide as much detail as possible so that the matter can be investigated promptly and fairly. Reports will be treated in confidence as far as reasonably possible, and no person raising a genuine concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment.
All reported concerns are reviewed, investigated where necessary, and documented. Where issues are identified, appropriate remedial actions are taken, which may include changes to processes, additional training, disciplinary action or escalation to external authorities.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to building awareness of modern slavery risks within our workforce. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment and supplier management, are provided with guidance on recognising indicators of exploitation and on the correct steps to take if they have concerns.
We aim to embed respect for human rights into our culture by regularly communicating our expectations and standards across the business and by reinforcing our zero-tolerance stance in policies, procedures and management practices.
Monitoring, Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
Enfield Removals reviews this Modern Slavery Statement and our associated procedures at least once every year, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation or our operations. The annual review evaluates the effectiveness of our actions, the findings from supplier audits, any reported concerns, and developments in best practice.
Where areas for improvement are identified, we will update our policies, strengthen our due diligence, enhance our training, or adjust our supplier requirements. We are committed to continuous improvement and to working collaboratively with employees, suppliers and other stakeholders to reduce the risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Enfield Removals and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our work.
